
COVID-19: More fruit and vegetable stalls wrapping produce to prevent virus spread

Companies delivering fruits say they have seen a 30 per cent increase in demand as customers avoid visiting markets to buy their produce. The National Centre for Infectious Diseases has found that people who contracted COVID-19 at the Bukit Merah Market in June tended to touch fruits and vegetables with their bare hands. More market stalls are now wrapping up their fruits and vegetables in individual packages.
