
Hiring on hold in Singapore's travel industry amid low volume of visitors, tour bookings

The skies may be reopening, but the silver lining isn't yet clear for Singapore's travel industry and its workforce. For many companies, 13 Vaccinated Travel Lanes have not translated to earnings, and replacing staff who left amid the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a back seat. Local tour bookings grew 30% to 55% each month in the first four months of 2021, but that momentum has stalled due to tighter restrictions.
