Ace Winner Email Stanley Tool Set Scam, Explained
Published at : September 30, 2022
Beware of a survey scam email that's going around that claims Ace Hardware is giving away to a winner a 170 Piece Stanley Tool Set. If the email address is not an official email address from Ace Hardware or Stanley, it's a scam. The one that I found had a strange email address. Ace Hardware and Stanley had nothing to do with the scam.
The email survey scam for the Ace Hardware winner offer of a 170 Piece Stanley Tool Set was going around in September 2022, and was not an official giveaway, contest, or promotion from either company.
The emails said, “Your Box Stanley Tool Set Waiting Confirmation. The Newest Model Yet. Get It Now! Ace Hardware. 170 Piece Stanley Tool Set. Congratulations! You have been chosen to participate in our Loyalty Program for FREE! CONFIRM NOW!”
I highly recommend to not click any links in emails like these or call any of the phone numbers, as they all lead to scammers. Safeguard all of your personal information and financial data. If you did give away some of your information, contact your bank and credit card company to alert them of the fraud and try to receive help regarding next best steps to ensure you will be ok. It's unclear if this Ace Hardware winner email scam for a 170 Piece Stanley Tool Set involved phishing, but it was definitely a scam either way.
